Grantley Adams International Airport Inc. offers complimentary educational tours during the summer season (May – September) to groups and focuses on educating about the day-to-day operations of the airport. Groups requesting a tour of GAIA are required to complete an application form (please click here for the form). Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance.
The maximum number of people per tour is 35. For numbers over 35, please contact the Operations Manager, contact provided below. Minimum age to accompany a tour is three (3) years.
When making a reservation, the following information is required:
- Name of the group and contact information;
- Number of persons in the group;
- Date requested, with possible alternative dates;
- Names of adults attending the tour;
- Tour group category, e.g. pre-primary school;
Tour conducting
Tours are conducted by the Facilitation Officers in conjunction with the Operations Manager. Tours begin in the departures check-in area and include areas of the terminal that lie beyond security search, including the duty-free shopping area, departure lounge, boarding gates, arrivals hall and ramp area. Your guide will give brief descriptions and explanations of the sites to be visited.
Tour dates and lengths
Tours are conducted Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 9.30 am and 11:00 am and are approximately 45 minutes.
Security briefing
A compulsory security briefing is provided prior to the beginning of every tour.
Security/ safety measures
All visitors entering the secure area are required to pass through security scanners and smoking on the airside is prohibited.
Parking
Parking is provided in the coach stand next to the Arrivals Terminal.
Corporate gifts
- GAIA Inc. may provide each tour group with corporate gifts at the end of each tour.
- E.g. children may be given pencils or key rings while adults may be offered a corporate pen.
- For educational tours (high school, university and colleges) - information brochures may be provided.
Visitors with disabilities
Ramp access is available for the physically challenged. Tour visitors in wheelchairs must be accompanied by someone who will push them. Special tours for visually impaired visitors can also be arranged.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Arrive on time.
- Storage is NOT available.
- Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
- Please notify the airport's Operations Manager, of any changes to your tour or group prior to your arrival date.
- All adults must walk with photo identification.
- Names of all touring adults must be sent at least one week ahead of the tour.
RECORDING AND FILMING DEVICES
Photography is permitted within designated areas, including aircraft interiors and terminal spaces. However, to ensure the security and privacy of all, the use of video cameras, tape recorders, and any form of electronic recording devices is strictly prohibited in security-sensitive zones.
